Personally i think this era is kind of a blessing and a curse for people around the world. On one hand its brought out some of the best in people, forcing us to use our creativity and innovation in a pndemic era. On the other hand, time at home seems to given a lot of people the excuse to focus on things that don’t matter. At least from what I have seen in the US, most people have invested their extra time in social media and have become overly involved in other people lives, people they don’t even know. In no way do I think social media is a bad thing, in fact i think it’s quite the opposite as I am someone who uses instagram to promote my creative work as a videographer. It does become a problem when it is the only thing that matters to you and it is providing you no income or opportunity to be a productive member of society. People spend hours scrolling through tik tok starting arguments and worrying about what their favorite creator is eating this morning instead of bettering themselves or picking up a new hobby. I think that if everyone in the world focused on their selves and becoming a well rounded person then a lot of the social problems we r having today would be solved that being said, this is just my opinion and take this with a grain of salt because there are certainly some days that i spend laying in bed on tik tok all day.
My thoughts are
In this would today people worry about the little problems but not the big problems
Like covid 19, the virus spread faster in America than anywhere else The virus came from China but no one knows how it came to America
Also for relationships people want a strong relationship but blame each other on why the relationship didn’t work when its a 50/50 relationship people are stuck trying to have a social media relationship instead of having their own personal relationship
I think technology is slowly desensitizing and normalizing awful thing to us with social media. We as people can now see and hear everything that goes around the world on social media and that great. But one second I see a video of a man being murdered by police and with 1 scroll i see memes. And then I just go on about my day school shootings are now just not a big deal because they happen so often. Covid happened people dying by the thousands and yet half of the people on this app just make memes about it. We live in a world where violence is normal and everyone including kids can see it by just scrolling through on IG Also everyone is just so divided and I hate that.
What i have seen here in the US or manly where i live here in Houston, TX, The new generation is more alert and open minded, But at the same time i think also Hypersensitive, And they are so consumed with social media and being consumed my unrealistic standards of living and beauty
I think it’s only bad to those who feel entitled to something. I think this world, America especially is problematic, but never bad. I also think the people in the world tend to be extremists, pushing for agendas that they are passionate about, while at the same time creating a divide they previously had issue with. People want exclusivity and a sense of importance without acknowledging that they aren’t that important compared to the collection of everyone as a whole. The world isn’t terrible, but we do live in a time where learning about are world is probably more important than it’s ever been due to the fact that creating conflict is the new trend in self-proclaimed social media activists.

Her thoughts on the world?
“I’m disgusted with the state of the world. Our justice system is wrong & based on. Authorities using their power & corruption to avoid solutions in order to “make a quick buck” or “protect their reputation” or whatever their pathetic excuse is makes me lose faith in the future. & this is just based off my view of the world in Minnesota. When I think about the entire world it just makes me want to sob. It feels like there’s no good left. There’s just so much that makes me feel like there is no hope left.
However, I’m determined to try & find something positive about the world. If there is a silver lining it would have to be that tragedy can bring people together. Whether through protest, social media, or just extending a thought of care.”
